The 3rd Global WOPs Congress is dedicated to the work of these service providers in contributing to our sustainable development. GWOPA is an alliance of partners working towards the common goal of making Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs) happen more often and with greater impact.
WOPs work by mobilizing the skills, know-how and goodwill within a strong 'mentor' to build the capacity of another operator – the 'mentee' – that needs assistance. WOPs progressively strengthen and empower the mentee operator at management, financial and technical levels to implement changes that will lead to better service.
The effective WOPs contribute to meeting national and global water and sanitation objectives including those relating to the Millennium Development Goals, Sustainable Development Goals and the Human Right to Water.
The 3rd Global WOPs Congress is dedicated to the work of water and sanitation operators in contributing to our sustainable development. This year 500 persons participated at the congress.
