Innovative water cooperation with the PR of China on the example of the SEMIZENTRAL infrastructure approach

Dr. Susanne Bieker and Dr. Katrin Krebber jointly published an article on SEMIZENTRAL in the 10^th special edition of the ITB Info Service issued by 28.8.2015 on Innovation in China.

Water supply and sewage disposal are presenting great challenges to the Peoples Republic of China. Much of the country lacks clean water. Reasons for this are on the one hand the natural shortage of water, on the other hand, however, serious quality problems. Many raw water sources are contaminated, which is due to a lack of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment. The contamination is often so great that the water can only be purified by very complex and time-consuming processes.
