Four Wins in closed loops

In volume 142 of the journal Political Ecology of oekom publishing Susanne Bieker have published an atricle about the infrastructure approach SEMIZENTRAL.

Traditionally, water, wastewater, sewage sludge, waste and energy are handled in separate organizational areas. Combining these complexes in a smart manner, this new infrastructure approach enables the use of synergy effects such as the gaining of products out of sewage sludge and waste. At the same time the approach is able to provide ‘infrastructure on demand’.
